RENTERS insurance
What is Renters Insurance?
If you live in a rented apartment, condominium, or home, you need to protect yourself, your space, and your personal belongings. Some buildings even require that you have a certain amount of renters coverage as part of your lease agreement. Typically, your landlord’s policy won’t help if your belongings are stolen or damaged nor with any additional living expenses if you are temporarily out or need to rent elsewhere due to a physical loss or damage to the space. Most importantly, renters insurance provides you with legal liability for anyone getting injured on your property. Renters Insurance covers all of these items for less than $1 per day.
Protect Your Property
If an accident occurs where you are renting, like a pipe burst, fire, or water from a neighboring unit, your landlord is not responsible for the damage caused to your personal belongings. An accident is nobody's fault and it is your responsibility to take care of your own damages. This is when renters insurance steps in.
Protect Yourself and Others
If someone is hurt in your apartment or anywhere in the world due to your negligence, you could be held responsible and asked to pay for the damages and medical bills. Renters insurance not only provides the money to pay for these items on your behalf but also pays for the defense attorneys who will respond to the lawsuit you may be served with.
Assure that you have somewhere to live
If the home you reside in gets damaged and you cannot live there, paying for temporary housing and/or relocation expenses is your responsibility. Renters insurance loss of use coverage will provide you with the money needed to pay for these expenses, so a loss to the place you are in doesn't also mean a loss to your wallet.
